Create Animated GIFs in PowerPoint

A Step-by-Step Guide

Introduction

GIFs, or Graphics Interchange Formats, are a popular way to share short animations online. They are often used in social media, messaging apps, and websites. While there are many ways to create GIFs, one of the easiest is to use Microsoft PowerPoint. In this tutorial, we will show you how to create animated GIFs in PowerPoint step-by-step.

Step 1: Create a New PowerPoint Presentation

To start, open Microsoft PowerPoint and create a new presentation. You can use any template you like, but for this tutorial, we will use the Blank template.

Step 2: Add Shapes or Images

Next, you will need to add some shapes or images to your presentation. You can do this by clicking on the Insert tab and then selecting the Shapes or Pictures option. Once you have added your shapes or images, you can arrange them on the slide as you like.

Step 3: Create an Animation

Now, you will need to create an animation for your shapes or images. To do this, click on the Animations tab and then select the animation you want to use. You can choose from a variety of animations, such as fade, fly in, or spin. Once you have selected an animation, click on the Play button to preview it.

Step 4: Set the Animation Duration and Timing

Next, you will need to set the duration and timing of your animation. To do this, click on the Animation Pane tab. In the Animation Pane, you can adjust the duration of the animation, as well as the timing of when it starts and ends.

Step 5: Save Your Presentation as a GIF

Once you are happy with your animation, you can save your presentation as a GIF. To do this, click on the File tab and then select the Save As option. In the Save As dialog box, select GIF from the Save as type dropdown menu. Then, click on the Save button.
